Cutlery Storage
I had the old Rubbermaid cutlery organizers and I have been using them all my adult life. Then I moved to a smaller apartment and lacked sufficient drawer space. Now when I say old, I mean old—in fact, one of the cutlery organizers was given to me by my mother.
I had been considering the style that stores cutlery like a picnic basket, but I decided that I didn't have enough counter or cabinet space. And I was worried about the cutlery getting dirty while I was cooking if it was left out.
Then I was browsing Amazon one day and discovered these cutlery organizers. Yes, they fit in my apartment kitchen drawers. In fact, two of them fit in a small drawer, meaning I have four sets of cutlery in just one drawer, but separated by style.
Honestly, nobody should be this happy over a piece of plastic. Yes, the icons are tiny, and yes, grey isn't the most exciting color. I'm way more concerned with the space in my cabinets and drawers, and these little beauties freed up an unbelievable amount of space.
If you need to, make labels for your cutlery: forks, knives, serving spoons, soup spoons, teaspoons, and stick them on the tray until you get accustomed to them. It won't take long!
